Brian Sniffen

Brian’s practice focuses on intellectual property (IP), business transactions, and privacy. He helps clients obtain and enforce valuable IP rights, comply with privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CPRA, other state-level laws), respond to data-security incidents, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts. 

Brian’s business-focused and pragmatic approach is informed by the years he spent as a litigator early in his career: he understands, for example, how seemingly minor changes to a contract can significantly impact a client’s rights and leverage if a dispute arises.

Brian grew up in southern Oregon and attended college and law school in Washington. During law school, he clerked at global law firm K&L Gates before joining Miller Nash in Portland. Brian practiced at Miller Nash for nearly 10 years, and was a partner there, before co-founding Wildwood.

Brian was recognized by Oregon SuperLawyers as a Rising Star every year between 2014 and 2022, and was a member of the Portland Business Alliance’s Leadership Portland Class of 2015. He teaches a contract-drafting class at a local law school, and has served as an officer on Executive Committees for Oregon State Bar sections, including the Corporate Counsel and Intellectual Property sections. In his free time, Brian loves being active and outdoors with family and friends. He also volunteers regularly for community organizations
